„Elasticum“
21.05.–09.06.2015, Vabaduse Gallery
The exhibition is about the relationship between person and space, about the innate will of a person to conform to the position and surface alien to him/her. The idea is based on Mall Nukke’s personal cognitive experience of conforming to her social environment.
The older a person gets, the craftier one becomes. Yet hidden tensions, unstable spirit landscapes are formed. „Know your limits,“ they say sagely. „Consider your limits,“ one might add. It is what is also approvingly called tolerance or empathy, but in author’s opinion it’s about falling into a comfort zone. All kind of exceeding one’s limits means putting in extra energy, while positioning oneself in a defined space offers a sense of security even if it may seem uncomfortable at first.
