„Wo-MATTER“

10.12.2014–7.01.2015, Haapsalu City Gallery

The exhibition consisting of charcoal and pencil drawings has a title based on wordplay (Wo-MATTER = substance = matter = womanly/female material). It is reflecting on the nature both of a woman as well as of a human being in general.

This kind of material is stable and variable as canvas, reflective and self-conscious as folium, flattering and gloomy as latex. Painstakingly blending into predetermined frames, she is almost not fitting in. The exhibition is about cognitive and unconscious existence of the Self. Human matter of existence is extremely similar to abstract dream, which would become banal due to the one-to-one description and analysis of it. Therefore, the author depicts it in allegoric pictures, which express the feeling, not the knowledge.
