„Elementa II“
28.11.–21.12.2024, Gallery Truus
In Latin, elementa means “elements”.
The exhibition displays 10 paintings representing air and water. These forces of nature cannot be managed by man. These are the powerful weapons of Mother Earth. Life and death on earth is possible thanks to them. The paintings feature sky and water reflecting a subtle touch of human culture. Disappearing cities are reflected on the surface of the water, violence and perdition tear the air apart. Eventually, everything sinks into silence.
The works depict the connection of the two primary substances, air and water: “Calm Before the Storm”, “Contact I-II”. Air meets water. The contact is hostile and powerful, tremendous crash of thunder follows.
The first exhibition of “Elementa” took place in Kuressaare Raegalerii, in 2022. Wild forests and people were the primary subjects of the works.
